Your Eyes: A Spine In The Heart
Your Eyes: A Spine In The Heart A Spine in the heart..
Your eyes..
It fills me with hurt..
And I idolize!!
I stab it right behind the night..
Behind the aching sighs..
I stab it..
And I keep it safe from the wind..
A sacred ray of tears.. A wound..
That makes my day her tomorrow..
More precious than my sorrow..
I knock the door, my heart..
Upon my heart..
And you were mesmerizing as the earth..
Like children..
Like Jasmine's birth..
Take me where you are..
O' Take me as you are..
I saw you in the spinal mountains..
And our mirrors were shattered into broken bonds ..
So became our sorrow.. A pint of two thousands!
A sacred ray of tears.. A wound..
More precious to me, than my soul..
A Light from the heart.. A light from the eyeball..
A flavor from the earth.. The taste of home!!
And I swear, from the lashes of the eyes..
The lashes of the eyes..
I'll knit you a scarf..
And upon it..
My poems will be carved..
Just for your eyes..
And Just for your scars..
So take me where you are..
O' Take me as you are..
Take me where you are..
Take me as you are..
P.S. This piece is not a literal translation to Mahmoud Darwish's masterpiece
"عيونك شوكة بالقلب"
But it's more of a translation I made to the essence of the version that Dima has chanted operatically upon M@hdeto's request!! (Of course, my translation not Dima's chanting) ^^
The Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish's original Arabic version, is extremely agonizing and may lead into serious consequences so Dima, pruned it to that in her song!! (Play The Embedded Video).
